Common Centre Enquiries
1. Where does the candidate go to get into their exam.
SecureClient needs to be installed on the computers that the exams are to be sat on. The link for SecureClient can be found under the Centres area of the IMI Awards website, under Secure Centre Information.
2. Cannot unlock exam.
Ensure candidate has entered their keycode.
3. Candidate has put in their keycode and it shows that exam is locked.
Invigilator needs to unlock the exam in SecureAssess. To avoid this please see Question 4.
4. Unlocking exams with a PIN code.
A PIN code can be used instead of the invigilator unlocking individual exams for the candidates.
You can set a PIN 48 hours before the exam by highlighting the relevant exams and clicking Set PIN. When you click on Set PIN a box appears and asks you to enter a PIN. You can choose any combination of four numbers and you can have the same PIN for every exam and use the same PIN every time.
On the day of the exam, after the candidates have put in their keycodes, they will be asked to enter a PIN. This is when the invigilator can tell the candidates the PIN and the candidates will unlock their own exams by inputting the PIN.
5. Exam has frozen.
Should be resolved by turning off machine (without voiding or pausing or completing the exam) and then turning on again and re-entering the keycode - if this does not work contact IMI Awards.
The Invigilator has the option to pause the assessment in SecureAssess to prevent the time expiring.
6. Candidate not showing on scheduling list.
Check you are in SecureAssess and not the IMI Awards on-line assessment area. If in correct area contact IMI Awards.
7. Qualification not showing for centre.

8. Qualification is showing but there is no exam showing.

9. How to schedule an exam.
FS Centre Coordinator uses SecureAssess to schedule assessments, guidance can be found under the Secure Centre Information navigation button in the Centres area of the IMI Awards website.
10. How can the candidate be given extra time.
25% can be added when scheduling without seeking prior permission, anything greater than 25% must be applied for as a Reasonable Adjustment. Centres are required to keep records for inspection.
11. Centre has scheduled an exam but it is not showing in Invigilate section of SecureAssess.
Exam will only show in this section 48 hours before the exam.
12. When will the exam results be released.

13. Where can the Centre obtain their results.
Results can be found under the Reporting tab in SecureAssess. Click on Reports and results can be viewed/printed by candidate or exam. Certificates can be applied for using Web Portal 2 as normal.
14. How can the Centre apply for paper based exams.
Complete Form 45 'Paper Assessment Request Form' and return it to IMI Awards. 30 days notice is required for assessment papers.
15. Errors within exam eg. Question not showing, duplicate questions/answers etc.

16. Candidate is absent.
Nothing needs to be done if a candidate is absent. The exam will just overrun and cancel itself out and will be available the next day to re-schedule. Centres can cancel/delete exams up to 48 hours before the exam. It is NOT advisable to void exams at any time.
17. Candidate missed scheduled exam but wants to be rescheduled within current window, but the candidate is greyed out in 'Create Exam'.
