The IMI National Qualification contains the Vocationally Related Qualification content, with a wider breadth of knowledge in applied science, mathematics, electronics and Information Technology (IT).

Launched in 2004, these vocationally related qualifications (VRQs) offer the widest range of technical knowledge to become a technician, or to progress to higher education.

The IMI National contains the Vocationally Related Qualification content, with a wider breadth of knowledge in applied science, mathematics, electronics and Information Technology (IT)

Who are they suitable for?

  • Those seeking employment, who do not have access to an SVQ
  • Those in full-time or part-time further education
  • Those undertaking an Apprenticeship with a Vocationally Related Qualification requirement
  • Those planning to progress to Level 4 qualifications, management qualifications or higher education

How do you get one?

  • Achieved on a full or part time basis at an IMI Awards approved centre
  • By training and undertaking academic, on-line and practical assessment
  • Typically each level is completed in an academic year
