This level 3 qualification focuses on a more senior business administration role, which is required to have a good knowledge and understanding of organisational and time management skills in order to evaluate, plan and improve processes and practices.
It is based upon the Council for Administration National Occupational Standards (2007) and its structure is designed to compliment the NVQ. It is also endorsed as a level 3 technical certificate within the CfA Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship.
It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following:
• Carrying Out Your Responsibilities at Work
• Working Within Your Business Environment
• Supervising an Office Facility
• Managing and Evaluating Customer Relations
• Planning and Running Projects
• Making Presentations
• Organising and Coordinating Events
• Using Software 3
• Designing and Producing Documents
• Planning and Implementing Innovation and Change
• Developing Productive Working Relationships with Colleagues
• Providing Leadership for your Team
Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI online tests set and marked by the IMI, and centre devised assessments marked by the approved centre and moderated by the IMI.
Individuals achieving this Level 3 VRQ can progress onto an Administration Level 3 NVQ, if working in a suitable role.
This qualification is endorsed as technical certificate at Level 3 and forms an integral part of the CfA Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration. Therefore students (normally aged 16-25) who are keen to build a career in the industry can progress within the framework.
