Level 3 Diploma in Body Building Competence (QCF)

This is a level 3 qualification designed to provide a standardised approach for the delivery and assessment of the competence and knowledge requirements. This VCQ also forms the integral component of the IMI SSC Accident Repair Advanced Apprenticeship framework (for the Body Building route).

This VCQ is an integral part of IMI SSC Accident Repair Advanced Apprenticeship Framework (Body Building Route). Therefore learners (normally aged 16-25) who are keen to build a career in the industry can take this VCQ as part of the Apprenticeship framework.

The programme involves the following:

· setting out and assembling body parts and components
· fabricating body panels and components
· MAG welding techniques
· Pre and post work inspections
· and optional unit choices of installing ancillary units and components, and further thermal joining techniques


Learners are required to demonstrate all of the evidence requirements, learning outcomes, assessment criteria through workplace evidence. Full guidance documents and assessment records are supplied by IMI Awards. 

Additional assessment of the knowledge component within this VCQ is made up of 2 components:
a.  IMI Awards set Online Testing
b.  IMI Awards set Written Assignment (Coursework)
