This is a level 2 qualification that includes removal and refitting principles and procedures. It provides essential knowledge for MET Technicians working on light or light-goods vehicles in all types of garages and dealerships.
It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following;
• Removing and Fitting Basic Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) Components
• Removing and Fitting Non-Structural Body Panels
• Removing, Renewing and Refitting Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) Units with Vehicle Systems
Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.
The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI Awards set practical assessments in a motor vehicle workshop environment, IMI Awards set ‘on-line’ multiple-choice testing and assessments set by the student’s centre.
