IMI Level 2 Certificate in Transport Engineering Maintenance for Passenger Carrying Vehicles (Mechanical)

This is a level 2 qualification that the covers technical needs for today’s passenger carrying vehicle industry. It provides essential knowledge for service maintenance technicians in the passenger carrying vehicle sector.

It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following:

Routine Maintenance and Repair of: Engine and Cooling Systems, Fuel Systems, Transmission Clutches, Gearboxes and Final Drives, Braking Systems,Steering and Suspension Systems, Electrical Systems

Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in garages and maintenance depots.

The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI Awards set practical assessments in a motor vehicle workshop environment, IMI Awards set ‘on-line’ multiple-choice testing and by assessments set by the student’s centre. For further information and advice, please contact an IMI Awards approved centre.
