IMI Level 2 Certificate in Transport Engineering Maintenance for Passenger Carrying Vehicles (Body Cladding) (VRQ)

Qual Ref: 100/5971/4 (Body Cladding)

This is a level 2 qualification that the covers technical needs for today’s passenger carrying vehicle industry.  It provides essential knowledge for body maintenance technicians in the passenger carrying vehicle sector.

It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following:
Bodyshop equipment, assembly and repair
Body welding and cutting
Plastic and composite manufacture and repair
Basic vehicle electrics

Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in garages and maintenance depots.

The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI Awards set practical assessments in a motor vehicle workshop environment, IMI Awards set ‘on-line’ multiple-choice testing and by assessments set by the student’s centre.
