How do you become accredited?
- Before you can take the assessment you must have already achieved an ATA ID Card in any ATA route at any level. The ATA ID Card must be current, i.e. not expired. You will need to show your ATA ID Card on the assessment day, you will not be permitted to take the assessment without first proving you hold a valid ATA ID Card.
- To achieve the ATA Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Safe Working module, you must pass one practical assessments and an on-line knowledge test at an IMI Awards assessment centre approved to offer this ATA module.
- The ATA MET Additional module Technician assessment (practical and online assessment) will usually last approximately half a day
- Once you have achieved your ATA module, you will be sent through an official ATA Certificate as recognition of your achievement.
- To ensure that you have kept up-to-date with new technologies, you will have to be re-assessed every 5 years to maintain your accreditation of the additional module.
- The ATA Additional Module Certificate will only be valid whilst the individual holds a current ATA ID Card.

One practical assessment
and
One on-line knowledge test comprising 10 questions which must be completed in 15 minutes. Topics which may be included are:
- health and safety
- High voltage electric vehicle components
Costs
- Registration (including certificates for successful technicians): £35
