IMIAL Level 1 Certificate in Vehicle Maintenance (QCF)

This qualification is designed to engage and motivate 14-19 year olds who are interested in learning about the maintenance of motor vehicles and the various roles that are available in the retail motor industry.

The qualification has a practical approach to assessment and includes many visual questioning techniques, which will stimulate and interest the learner.  The learner outcomes are assessed by a variety of task based assessment, observation, oral questioning and online assessments.  Approved Centres can download the full qualification guidance and assessment criteria documentation at the bottom of this page.

The Certificate is currently suitable as the vocational subject-based learning component of Foundation Learning.  

To gain this Certificate learners must achieve the following:

Certificate Total = Min 29 credits
Learners must achieve a minimum of 29 credits. This must include 8 credits from mandatory units. The other credits may be selected from any other group however at least 15 credits must be at level 1

Progression

This Certificate is ideal for those learners who wish to undertake a qualification which will support their progress to a Foundation (Level 1) or Higher (Level 2) Diploma.  It can also supplement their progress to GCSEs and other approriate destinations, such as apprenticeships and employment.
