This level 3 qualification covers the essential knowledge for roadside technicians.

It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following;
• Assessing and securing the roadside situation
• Carrying out roadside diagnostic and rectification activities
• Giving customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation

Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety when repairing vehicles at the roadside.

The student’s knowledge is assessed by IMI Awards set practical assessments in a simulated working environment, IMI Awards set ‘on-line’ multiple-choice testing and assessments set by the student’s centre. For further information and advice, please contact an IMI Awards approved centre.
